What is sweeter than taking Monterey engagement photos? Taking them for a dear friend, while wearing a disguise so she doesn’t recognize you! This day is the first time I met Bill in person, but I had heard all about him for months before that. When we finally connected on IG and started planning the proposal, it felt extra special for me since it was for my dear friend and colleague Natasha. Bill only had a short window of time during his visit to propose. To add to that, he was visiting around Valentine’s Day, which means everything was more crowded. After discussing several options, Bill decided on proposing at Daou Vineyards because it was the first time this couple shared their feelings with each other.

If you know my work, you know I don’t often shoot in the middle of the day, but I can’t always chose the timing of my clients events, so we made magic happen anyway. My husband tagged along for this shoot as emotional support and assistant. We both tried to be as inconspicuous as we could. There were hats, jackets and blankets involved. He managed to record a video of the whole things as well!

In the end, this shoot was a great success. Natasha was surprised! She was in tears and threatened to murder me (out of love of course). We got some amazing images of their special moment. I can’t wait to take some more monterey engagement photos with these two in a few months! Hope to hit up a another gorgeous local spot and this time at sunset!
